5 Creative Ideas for a Boy's Winter Time Baby Shower
If the little guy is due anytime during the frosty winter, take a look at these
heartwarming theme ideas for a fun baby shower.
Baby It's Cold Outside
It might be cold outside but the Baby, It's Cold Outside shower theme will warm their hearts and have everyone excited about the moment they can finally snuggle up with that new baby boy.
In fact, this theme is huge this year for winter showers being given in honor of both boys and girls. What's really fun about it is that it's pretty wide open to your own interpretation.
Of course, you'll use snow as the base idea and then build it with cute wintertime blue and white things such as snowflakes, baby mittens, booties, and ear muffs.
You'll want a hot cocoa bar at the shower and lots of tasty treats topped with powdered confectioner's sugar.
Sports themes are always popular and in style for a little man's baby shower but since he's expected in the winter, why not choose an exclusively winter sports theme?
This works especially well if his parents are fanatics for things like hockey or skiing.
If the family has a favorite team, you could use their colors for your party supplies and accessories. Homemade decorations might be in order and you could always use some real sporting equipment for decorating purposes on the big day.
Fun sporty finger foods like hot dogs and pop corn served along with appropriately decorated goodies would certainly make the occasion even more fun.
What's black and white and blue all over?
A penguin baby shower for a little boy, that's what.
Who doesn't love a cute little penguin? I can't think of anyone that I know. That's why they're so much fun to use as a winter theme.
In addition to decorating with a mainly black and white color combination, you'll want to serve foods that match the theme. Black and white cookies, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and Whoopie pies are all good choices for dessert.
Cute plush penguins are easy to come by and can be used as decorations for the tables during the party and then given to the baby afterwards.
Nothing says winter quite like a whimsical snowman. Throwing a snowman baby shower is easy too!
There's so many fun things available with these cute guys on them that it will be hard to decide which ones to choose when it comes to decorating..
Dessert will be easy too. You could serve white cupcakes that look like snowballs, powdered sugar doughnut holes and anything topped with marshmallows. The hot chocolate will go well with this theme also so make sure to have plenty of that on hand.
Winter Woodland Animals
Baby animals are always extremely popular as a baby shower theme but when the weather turns cold and snowy, the woodland animals take center stage.
Your biggest problem with this theme is choosing which type of forest animal to use.
There's bears, and fox and bunnies and deer and owls and oh so many more. Better yet, you can just include them all!
You'll want to make your decorations, party supplies and food choices rustic in nature to give this a more realistic, as opposed to a whimsical, tone.
Again the plush animal decor wold work perfectly and they'd make for terrific extra gifts for the little guy.

The History of Bridal Showers
Did you know that the custom of throwing a bridal shower dates back to the time when dowries were popular? Friends of the woman to be wed began giving what is now known as a bridal shower to compensate women who came from poor families who couldn't afford a proper dowry, or for a woman whose father didn't approve of the marriage and refused to pay.
